Weekend ahead!

It is 2:15 and I just can't wait to leave work so that I can dive into my stash and find the rest of the 10 yarn colors that I need for my workshops this weekend. I hope that I get a lot of rest tonight and that I'm not as tired tomorrow and Sunday as I am today. The thing is I know how exhilerating but exhausting these workshops are. Since hubby is taking me up there, I plan on bring the lap top so I can write in Word my direct impressions from the first day so that I can give a full account of how it goes. I want to use this as a good guide to help me remember.

I was reading Stephanie Pearl-Mcphee's "Knitting Rules" last night and she mentioned a knitting journal. I have one that I bought that really isn't big enough to keep much information. I think the girl from Pixie Purls (or was it Knitcentric??? to many podcasts!!) was talking about putting her patterns on her IPod so that she can do her knitting on the move without carring the pattern. I thought about both of these things...and then thought of my lonely PDA that my husban bought me when he broke my others. I've not been using it as much, mostly because I don't like it as much as I liked my first one. The first one was light and worked a lot better! The point is, however, that I should be useing the PDA to keep track of patterns I want to make AND I could copy and paste some of my simpler patterns on to my PDA. As long as I'm not giving them to anyone else, I think it should be ok with copywrite because I can make one copy for myself to use...it just won't be paper. I'm going to see how it goes. I often get somewhere and find some surprise yarn store (well I do dream about these places...) and don't know what yarn I need for the patterns I've got in my head to do. So that is my challenge for the rest of this month is to get that all sorted...and get my craft room fixed up so that I can actually do what I want creatively!!!

Good news is I've started my birthday present for a friend in crochet (out of Erika Knight's crochet simple book) and I'm almost finished with Tobins blanket (literally about 10 more rows and the sewing up!) and I've got one and a half blocks down for Wesley's.

Actually, last night was a mile stone. I don't usually knit in public except at lunch. I actually took my meeting to our Thursday night group and knitted while we had our study. Everyone seemed ok with me doing it. I also am trying to get together some charity's for our church ladies to make blankets or squares for...so I'm busy going that. Last night they thought I might have been doing that...but I had to admit it was for my Nephew to be.....

You are so lucky that you are going to have a craft room, that would be a dream come true. I have a knitting journal, but it is a book I have to confess I am not even sure what a PDA is.!! Anyway hope the workshops go well.

A PDA is a personal Digital Assistant...or a hand held computer. I got it when I started my degree course and I used to use it a lot...but not so much anymore.

Thanks for telling me that,I am only just getting to grips with the digital camera.lol. My ambition at the moment is to get an ipod and learn what to do with it.

That is such a good idea - using your PDA for patterns!

So... did you write up your day? Can't have been much of it left after we dropped you back at your B&B after dinner.

No!! I didn't...I was so exhausted...truefully it will take me all week to tell about the great time I had, and how much I learned. I will try on Tues to post some of the pics! There were such talented people at this workshop and I met such nice people. I didn't really want it to end!
