As if I hadn't posted enough today...but I just have to rant. I've been working on this blanket for my nephew since Christmas. With this piece you worked the center and then worked a garter stitch border. The border is built like a frame...well my frame was TWISTED!!! Even after spending upten hours redoing and redoing and checking and checking!!! Oh well it is better now. I'm not posting a picture just in case my sis is on here and I don't want her to see it until I've sent it to her!
So how did I fix it??? Well I stuck two needles in at different places. Cut the work (YES I CUT THE WORK AAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH). I did a three needle cast off, which I've never done before. I just have to make sure that the resulting seam is in the back of the blanket when I sew it up. By that time my foot was asleep from sitting on the floor trying to fix it, so I gave up pinning it.....This is the first big piece that I've done like this and I can now see why they are selling those new clips for holding the work together. I might have to see if I can source them here! They look like small hair clips, but with fewer claws........

That is so frustrating! Hope it all works out ok. BTW I love the freeform. Must get round to trying it one day soon.
Woolly Workshop also have Knit Klips cheaper or you can get something similar from Claires Accessories that are a lot smaller and work just as well.
I am peagreen with envy that you had such a great time at the Freeform workshop!! Lovely creations from everyone - thanks for putting them up for us to look at!
Fortunately, there was only 11 stitches! Whew! But if I had to take out and redo??? Well we were talking about 200ish stitches and 20 rows to redo of GARTER!

I bought Jenny Dowde's book on the grounds I'm bound to have lots of odds and ends of yarn/string/stuff in the near future. But then I've seen pictures of some fabulous scarves Just Knitted from said odds and ends. Decisions, decisions...
My sympathy on the blanket, but what a satisfying thing to have accomplished. "It's not a problem, it's an opportunity to learn a new skill"?
True very true....though I have to say my heart did lots of palpatations when I was cutting into the work and panicking that I was going to drop stitches....which I did, but my trusty crochet hook helped. I've set it off to the side for the moemnt...a bit worried to even see how it measures up now!
You're so brave to cut! I don't think I could do it. I'd probably pass out from the stress. ;-)
